pangu is the creative practice of Sami Kimberley, a multidisciplinary creative director and regenerative design practitioner based in London, UK. Sami's work sits at the interplay of ecology and culture, built on a foundational ethos of eco-culturalism: the idea that human cultures are inseparable from the ecosystems that sustain them, that culture both emerges from and shapes the environments in which it exists, and that ecological health is directly linked to societal and cultural wellbeing.
Having spent a decade as a commercial creative director shaping the narratives of brands like Burberry, Nike and On, she is now applying that same world-building instinct to a harder question: how can human cultures work with ecological and cultural systems rather than against them?
In 2026, Sami completed an MA in Regenerative Design at Central Saint Martins, crystallising pangu into its current form: a creatively led regenerative design practice using storytelling and design (in its loosest sense) to evoke new ways of thinking, making and being.
Her work spans filmmaking, curation, creative direction and consultancy, community organisation, and physical making.
Notable works include Clam-Crete, her final MA project; Wasteland Methodology, developed as part of an LVMH Maison/0 residency; Nature KwenTour, a project with the British Council and Green Lions; and her upcoming film, Chuey. Sami is also the co-founder of Baesianz, a collective platforming Asian diasporic narratives, and a member of Green Lions, an ESEA-led environmental justice community.
